Got a questions about your California unemployment benefits? Wondering where your EDD Debit Card is? Well normally i'd tell you to call the California EDD at their phone number, or logon to the EDDCA website or show up at one of the many offices but now there is another way to get help from the California EDD. Check out ASK EDD at https://askedd.edd.ca.gov/asp/frmEDDCOMM.aspx which is a new website with the function of taking in questions from those receiving unemployment benefits in California and providing answers to common questions. First thing you'll see is a dropdown list of categories. Choose for example unemployment insurance, next choose a sub-category and topic to narrow down your question. Finally you'll be presented with a list of common questions, for example by choosing EDD Debit Card I found a question "Where Is My Card?" and chose that and found a great article on how to check status on your debit card and what to do if you've not received the card. This is but one example of how Ask EDD can act as a great communication tool to engage with the state. That is why the site is also called EDDCOMM as it is a great communications tool put out by the great state of California.

Typically this needs to be done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to keep your unemployment payments flowing. If you have not filed your weekly claim your benefits may lapse and require that you reactivate unemployment benefits to get the claim going again. As we near the end of the endless extension of unemployment benefits those on Indiana unemployment benefits have to be wondering if Indiana will be among states who receve more unemployment benefit extensions? With the economy verging on another recession many are proposing more unemployment benefit extensions as a way to stimulate the economy. While there is some merit to this idea, many in congress and many Americans are in belt tightening mode and will be reluctant to grant another extension and add more to our dececit. Yet in states like Indiana where unemployment hovers around 8.5% the neeed for more unemployment benefits is great and those who do receive another round of benefits will not only be kept afloat, perhaps kept in their homes but will directly stimulate the economy because generally those on benefits are not saving money but spending it immediately in the economy. I find it odd that we would turn to the most unfortunate for helping stimulate our economy but I do see the science behind it. So the question as we head to the end of the year is will American have the stomach to spend on more unemployment extensions for states like Indiana?

Expanded Leave A Better Alternative To Unemployment

Expanded Leave—This concept is little infamous when compared with the other concepts discussed above. In this alternate work arrangement the employees are eligible to take long leaves from work under the labels of sabbatical leave, medical leave, leave for community service or education leave. This saves the company money, resulting in fewer layoff notices and a much improved Illinois unemployment rate. With more workers taking voluntary leaves who are not eligible for unemployment the company saves money and the unemployment system in Illinois receives a much needed break. The company reserves the rights to decide on paying the employees during the leave period and generally they are not eligible for unemployment benefits.
Some of the benefits of the alternate work arrangements is that the companies can also think of reducing the infrastructure cost per employee. Malicious compliance is a term often used in business and management settings to describe a person who has an odd way of inflicting harm of the company. When most people think of a trouble making employee, they think of one that causes a ruckus or one reactivating unemployment or back from a lay off and doesn’t follow orders. Malicious compliance , however, features a person who exhibits passive aggressive behavior in following the exact guidelines of management. They do this because they know that following such rigid guidelines will, in some cases, inflict harm on the company either in a financial or ethical sense. Thus the term Malicious Compliance.
A simple way to think about malicious compliance is that it is a very demented form of sabotage used by people who don’t like their managers. Workers engaging in malicious compliance feel the need to somehow inflict harm on a manager’s reputation, so they make it a point to do things that will cause that damage. For someone with Testicular Torsion the spermatic cord that supplied all the blood to your testicles can get twisted which cuts off the blood supply. I am super thankful for employee matching! My employer does this and half (literally!) of the funds I have is thanks to employer matching. It does take forever to take effect however! Still, I am thankful. :)
I have just returned from a 2 mile walk. I still can't quite wrap my mind around walking 60 miles. I am in awe of people who run marathons.

I checked it out, spent hours researching, digging, reading, etc. and after 2 days of finding nothing but positive things about it have signed up for it as well!
